Steps
- Take the water filter out of the tank before any descaler goes in.
From the manual: “Ensure that the water filter is removed from the water tank before adding the descaling powder”
- Empty the drip tray and slide it back into place.

- Dissolve one sachet of Sage descaling powder completely in 1 litre of cold tap water, then pour it into the tank.

- Hold the 2 CUP button, then also hold POWER, to enter Descale mode; POWER flashes while it heats.

- Wait until POWER, 1 CUP, CLEAN ME and HOT WATER / STEAM are all lit steadily.

- Press 1 CUP to descale the coffee circuit; it runs about 25 seconds and the button stops flashing when done.

- Turn the dial left to STEAM to descale the steam circuit, which takes about 13 seconds.

- About half a litre should be left; repeat the coffee, steam and hot water runs until the tank is empty.

- Take out the tank, rinse it well and refill it with fresh cold water to its 2 litre maximum.

- Run the coffee, steam and hot water descale steps again with the fresh water to flush out any solution.

- Press POWER to leave Descale mode; the lights go out.
