Steps

  1. Heat the machine up; the steam boiler can stay off.

    From the manual: “Heat up the machine. It is not necessary to switch on the steam boiler.”

  2. Fit the blind filter in the portafilter and add no cleaner.

    From the manual: “It´s better if you clean the brew group from time to time without cleaner.”

  3. Lock the portafilter into the group.

    From the manual: “Clamp the portafilter into the brew group.”

  4. Raise the brew lever for about 20 seconds so the blind filter fills.

    From the manual: “Operate the group lever for approx. 20 seconds.”

  5. Hold the lever in its middle position, about 45°.

    From the manual: “moving the group lever into the middle position, approx. 45°.”

  6. After about half a minute, lower the lever fully so the water drains through the group.

    From the manual: “Move the lever into the lower position after approx. half a minute.”

  7. Repeat until only clear water comes out. Repeat until the discharge runs clear

    From the manual: “until only clear water is discharged by the infusion cylinder”

  8. Swap the blind filter for your coffee basket.

    From the manual: “Then replace the blind filter with the filter for coffee.”
