After-use clean: burrs, hopper and dispensing tube: Fiorenzato AllGround Sense

Before you start

Tools
soft bristle brush (clean, sanitised), dry cloth, soft cloth, vacuum cleaner, two screwdrivers (hopper locking pin)
Supplies
neutral-pH food-grade detergent/degreaser (non-perfumed; for the hopper and dispensing tube only, never the burrs)

Steps

  1. Switch the grinder off at its switch and pull the plug from the socket.

  2. Close the bean shutter, loosen the hopper locking pin and lift the hopper off.

  3. Take off the lid and pour the beans back into their bag, sealing it airtight.

  4. Wash the hopper inside and out with hot water and a neutral, unperfumed food-grade degreaser, then dry it with a soft cloth.

  5. Take the hopper locking pin out of the grinding chamber, using a screwdriver to part the inner screw from the outer pin.

  6. Turn the adjustment ring nut clockwise to its end stop, where the locking pin clicks up.

  7. Press the pin down and turn the ring nut a little further clockwise to free it, then lift it off.

  8. Wipe the ring nut inside and out with a damp cloth.

  9. Vacuum out any beans sitting in the collar of the removable chamber.

  10. Lift the removable chamber, which carries the upper burr, out of the grinder body.

  11. Brush, wipe and vacuum the chamber and its burr until no coffee dust is left on any surface or tooth.

  12. Brush the face where the chamber sits against the grinding chamber.

  13. Vacuum the beans and coffee powder out of the grinding chamber.

  14. Clean the grinding chamber and the lower burr with a soft brush and a dry cloth.

  15. Brush the whole contact surface inside the grinding chamber.

  16. Pull the magnetic dispensing tube out of its seat.

  17. Wash the tube in hot water with a neutral, unperfumed food-grade degreaser, then dry it with a soft cloth.

  18. Vacuum and wipe every trace of coffee out of the tube's seat.

    From the manual: “clean the seat of the dispensing tube from all coffee powder residues.”

  19. Push the tube back into its seat until the magnet catches it.

  20. Refit the removable chamber in the body, facing the right way.

  21. Set the ring nut on the body with its red arrow against the red notch on the chamber.

  22. Press it down and turn it slightly anticlockwise until it engages and the locking pin clicks up.

    From the manual: “rotate it slightly anti-clockwise until the coupling point is found.”

  23. Press the pin and keep turning anticlockwise to your working grind setting.

    From the manual: “turn the ring nut anti-clockwise again until it reaches the desired working position.”

  24. Refit the hopper locking pin: screw from inside the collar first, then the pin from outside, tightened together with two screwdrivers.

  25. Fit the hopper with its locking hole on the pin, then screw the pin fully in.

    From the manual: “Screw in the pin (Item 9) all the way to lock the hopper in position.”

  26. Plug in and refill with beans.
