Steps

  1. Work over a table or other flat surface so no small part is lost.

From the manual: “We recommend disassembling your grinder above a table or similar flat surface.”

  2. Pull the magnetic crank straight off, holding it close to the lid.

From the manual: “Simply pull the crank away from the body. It helps if you hold the crank near the lid.”

  3. Unscrew the three-pointed grind dial fully to free the burr cone, keeping hold of the dial and the cone.

From the manual: “To remove the conical burr, simply unscrew the 3-pointed grind setting dial all the way.”

  4. Take out the cone, the spring, the washers and the axle.

From the manual: “You can remove the cone, spring, washers and axle - for cleaning, for example.”

  5. Brush the burrs and the inside of the grinder clean.

From the manual: “We recommend simply brushing your burr and grinder interior clean.”

  6. Blow dust out of corners the brush cannot reach with compressed air or a lens blower.

From the manual: “blow coffee dust out of hard-to-reach areas using compressed air, a camera lens blower”

  7. If the body is dirty, wipe it with a damp cotton cloth and dry it straight away. Optional

From the manual: “If it gets dirty, then a damp cotton cloth is enough, and we would recommend drying it immediately.”

  8. Fit the top washer before the axle, raised edge towards the bearing.

From the manual: “The top washer should be inserted before the axle, with the raised edge towards the bearing.”

  9. Put the crank back on to hold the axle in place.

From the manual: “Attach the crank to help hold everything in place.”

  10. Slide the bottom washer onto the axle, raised edge towards the bearing.

From the manual: “Insert the bottom washer onto the axle, with the raised edge facing towards the bearing.”

  11. Put the spring back inside the cone and slide the cone onto the axle.

From the manual: “With the spring reinserted into the cone, slide the cone back onto the axle.”

  12. Press the cone into the body while you screw the grind dial back onto the axle.

From the manual: “Whilst pushing the cone into the body of the grinder, screw the grind setting dial back onto the axle.”

  13. Find click zero: hold the grinder level and close the burrs until the handle stops dropping, then count clicks open to your setting.

From the manual: “click zero is the first available setting where the handle no longer falls”
