Dezcal descaling powder (28 g (1 oz) per litre (32 oz) of hot water); Ascaso Coffee Washer V.666 (Ascaso's own product, which the manual says also descales; dose not stated), optional

Steps

1. Dissolve Dezcal powder in hot water at 1 oz (28 g) per 32 oz (1 litre).

   From the manual: “Use 1 oz (28g) of powder for each 32 oz (1 L) of water.”

2. Pour the dissolved solution into the machine's water tank.

   From the manual: “Pour the dissolved solution into the water tank of the machine.”

3. Switch the machine on and start the brew cycle to draw the solution through.

   From the manual: “Turn the machine on and begin the brew cycle.”

4. Rinse the tank and all the parts the solution touched.

5. Run the cycle again with clean water, twice, to flush the descaler out. Repeat 2
