Before you start

Steps

  1. Open 'Wash' in the main menu, or 'Start washing' in the quick user menu.

  2. Take the filter holder out and empty it.

  3. Swap the filter for the blind filter and pour in coffee-machine detergent, dosed per the detergent's package.

  4. Lock the filter holder back in and press the tick; the wash runs by itself and shows 'Wash in progress...'.

    From the manual: “refit the filter holder in the machine and press the tick (V); the group washing cycle will start”

  5. When the display asks you to prepare for rinsing, take the filter holder out and rinse the blind filter under running water.

    From the manual: “remove the filter holder and clean the blind filter, washing it with running water;”

  6. Refit the holder with the blind filter but no detergent and press the tick to start the rinse.

    From the manual: “refit the filter holder with blind filter without detergent in the group”

  7. When 'Rinse completed' appears, press the confirm button.

    From the manual: “the display will show “Rinse completed - Press confirm button”;”

  8. Remove the holder, put the normal filter back and pull one coffee to clear any off-flavours.

    From the manual: “replace the blind filter with the normal filter and dispense a coffee to eliminate any unpleasant flavours.”
