Replace the group head seal: Sage Barista Touch Impress

Before you start

Tools
flat screwdriver (not supplied), skewer or similar, long-nose pliers (optional)

Steps

  1. Switch off with POWER and pull the plug from the socket.

  2. Lift out the water tank and drip tray, carefully in case they are full.

  3. Pick any coffee out of the centre of the shower-screen screw with a skewer.

    From the manual: “Using a skewer or similar, clean the centre of the screw of any residual coffee.”

  4. Undo the screw anticlockwise with a flat screwdriver (not in the box).

    From the manual: “Use a flat screw driver (not provided) to unscrew.”

  5. Take out and keep the screw and shower screen, noting which face pointed down.

    From the manual: “Make note of the side of the shower screen that is facing downwards.”

  6. Wash the shower screen in warm soapy water and dry it fully.

    From the manual: “Wash the shower screen in warm soapy water, then dry thoroughly.”

  7. Pull the old silicone seal out by hand or with long-nose pliers.

    From the manual: “Remove the silicone seal with your fingers or a pair of long-nose pliers.”

  8. Push in the new seal flat side first, so its ribbed face points towards you.

    From the manual: “Insert the new seal, flat side first, so the ribbed side is facing you.”

  9. Refit the dispersion plate, then the shower screen, then the screw.

    From the manual: “Re-insert the dispersion plate, then the shower screen, then the screw.”

  10. Start the screw 2-3 turns clockwise by hand, then tighten with the screwdriver until flush with the screen.

    From the manual: “turn the screw clockwise for 2-3 revolutions and use a flat screw driver to tighten until the screw is flush”

  11. Put the drip tray and water tank back.

    From the manual: “Re-insert the drip tray and water tank.”
