Steps
- Empty the drip tray and refit it.
From the manual: “Empty the drip tray and reattach to the machine.”
- Take off the water tank and lift the water filter out of it.
From the manual: “Remove the water tank from the machine and remove the filter from the water tank.”
- Fill the tank to the DESCALE line, add the descaling agent, and refit the tank.
From the manual: “Fill the water tank to the DESCALE line indicated and add the descaling agent to the water.”
- Press MENU, turn the GRIND AMOUNT dial to DESCALE and press to select; 1 CUP lights.

- Press 1 CUP to start; the machine descales coffee, hot water and steam in turn, beeping after each.

- Turn the STEAM dial to HOT WATER and then to STEAM whenever the LCD asks for it.

- When descaling ends and 1 CUP lights for the rinse, empty the drip tray and refit it.

- Tip any remaining solution out of the tank, refill it with water to MAX and refit it.

- Press 1 CUP to run the 3-stage rinse, turning the STEAM dial when the LCD says.

- Wait for the beep and the return to READY mode.

- Rinse the drip tray and water tank, and dry them before refitting.
