Fit a new INTENZA+ filter: Saeco Brita INTENZA+ (CA6702)
Before you start
- Tools
- bowl of cold water, water hardness test strip (optional)
- Supplies
- Saeco Brita INTENZA+ water filter cartridge (CA6702; fits Saeco machines except the Vienna)
Warnings

Steps
- Take the small white filter out of the tank and keep it somewhere dry; you will need it again for descaling. Only when: first fitting, on machines that came with the small white filter
From the manual: “Remove the small white filter from the water tank and store it in a dry place.”
- Unpack the new cartridge and hold it under cold water with its opening facing up.
From the manual: “immerse it in cold water with the opening pointing upwards”
- Squeeze its sides gently until no more air bubbles come out. Repeat until no more bubbles
From the manual: “Press the sides of the filter gently to let out the air bubbles.”
- Turn the ring on the cartridge to your water hardness: A soft, B the factory setting, C very hard; a test strip tells you which.
From the manual: “Turn the knob of the filter to the setting that corresponds to the water hardness of the area you live in.”
- Put the cartridge in the empty tank and press it down as far as it will go.
From the manual: “Place the filter in the empty water tank. Press it down until it cannot move any further.”
- Fill the tank to MAX with fresh water and slide it into the machine.
From the manual: “Fill the water tank with fresh water up to the MAX indication and slide it into the machine.”
- Dispense hot water until the tank has run empty, and discard it.
From the manual: “Let the machine brew hot water until the water tank is empty”
- Refill the tank to MAX and put it back.
From the manual: “Refill the water tank with fresh water up to the MAX indication and slide it back into the machine.”
- Change the cartridge again in two months.
From the manual: “Please replace the cartridge every two months.”
