Replace the head gasket and sprayer: Rocket Appartamento and Rocket TCA
Before you start
- Tools
- small slotted screwdriver, group cleaning brush (supplied), damp cloth, container for soaking
- Supplies
- replacement head gasket (Rocket consumable, from an authorised Rocket dealer); replacement sprayer (shower screen) (only if worn or damaged), optional; espresso cleaning detergent (2 teaspoons in hot water, for soaking the diffuser), optional

Steps
- Switch the machine off, unplug it and wait until it has cooled down.
From the manual: “disconnect the machine from the mains and wait for its temperature to drop.”
- Pry the inner edge of the sprayer (shower screen) with a small slotted screwdriver and lift it out with its gasket.

- Unscrew the diffuser from the group with the same screwdriver.
From the manual: “With the same screwdriver, unscrew the diffuser”
- Scrub the inside of the group with the supplied cleaning brush.
From the manual: “Scrub the inside of the unit head with the unit cleaning brush supplied”
- Wipe the area where the portafilter locks in with a damp cloth.
From the manual: “Using a damp cloth, clean the area where the portafilter connects to the unit head.”
- Soak the diffuser for 10 minutes in hot water with 2 teaspoons of espresso cleaning detergent, then rinse and wipe it.
From the manual: “Soak for 10 minutes. Rinse thoroughly, clean and reassemble.”
- Screw the diffuser back on in the order shown in the manual's figure 8.6.
From the manual: “Screw the head diffuser back on re- specting the order shown in figure 8.6.”
- Fit the new gasket with the sprayer (new if worn or damaged) and hook them into the group.
