Backflush the group with detergent: Rocket Appartamento and Rocket TCA

Steps

1. Do the plain-water backflush first, then put a small amount of espresso machine detergent in the blind basket.

   From the manual: “Every week, after backflushing, add a small amount of espresso cleaning detergent to the blind basket.”

2. Dissolve the detergent with hot water and fit the portafilter into the group.

   From the manual: “Dissolve the detergent in hot water and insert the portafilter into the unit head.”

3. Start dispensing, then stop it after about 10 seconds.

   From the manual: “Open and close the unit dispensing for about 10 seconds.”

4. Repeat that start/stop several times. Repeat several times

   From the manual: “Repeat several times.”

5. Empty the detergent out and backflush with plain water until no detergent residue is left in the group.

   From the manual: “backflush using water only as above until the group is thoroughly cleansed of detergent residue.”
