Replace the group gasket and shower screen: Profitec Pro 400

Before you start

flat screwdriver, group brush, portafilter without a filter basket

Warnings

Steps

  1. Switch the machine off at the power switch and unplug it.

    From the manual: “Switch off the machine (power switch in position “0”) and disconnect the power cord.”

  2. Let it cool to room temperature.

    From the manual: “Let the machine cool down to room temperature.”

  3. Prise the shower screen and group gasket out with a flat screwdriver.

    From the manual: “Use a flat screwdriver to carefully pry out the shower screen and the group gasket.”

  4. Pull the old screen and gasket out completely.

    From the manual: “Remove the shower screen and the gasket completely.”

  5. Have the new gasket and screen ready; the gasket's rounded side faces up, into the group.

    From the manual: “the rounded side of the group gasket faced upwards to the brew group”

  6. Brush the inside of the group clean.

    From the manual: “Clean the group with a brush.”

  7. Snap the new shower screen firmly into the new gasket.

    From the manual: “Lock the shower screen firmly into the gasket.”

  8. Push the screen-and-gasket assembly up into the brew group.

    From the manual: “Insert the shower screen into the brew group.”

  9. Take the portafilter with no basket in it and lock it into the group.

    From the manual: “Take the portafilter without filter.”

  10. Work the portafilter in until the screen is pressed firmly home in the gasket.

    From the manual: “move the portafilter until the shower screen is locked firmly into the gasket”

  11. Check the portafilter now locks in normally; the group is ready.

    From the manual: “Now you can easily lock the portafilter into place.”
