Before you start

Steps
- Heat the machine up until the boiler gauge shows working pressure, 1.0-1.2 bar.

- Brush the brew group clean with the group brush.

- Fit the blind filter in the portafilter.

- Add group cleaner to the blind filter, dosed as its pack says.

- Lock the portafilter into the group.

- Lift the brew lever; the blind filter fills with water.

- Bring the lever to its middle position, about 45°, and let the cleaner soak; do not lower it fully yet.

- After 20-60 seconds, drop the lever fully so the oils drain out through the group.

- Rinse the portafilter and blind filter under fresh water and lock the portafilter back in.

- Run the lever for about 40 seconds, then return it to the lower position.

- Take the portafilter out and rinse it and the blind filter again.

- Swap the blind filter for your coffee basket.
