Replace the brew group gasket: Profitec GO

Before you start

Tools
3 mm Allen key, flat-head screwdriver, cleaning brush, portafilter without filter
Supplies

Steps

  1. Switch the machine off and pull the mains plug.

  2. Let the machine cool down.

  3. Clean the machine first, brew group included.

  4. Take off the grid and the drip tray.

  5. Unpack the spare gasket and lay out the parts.

  6. Undo the countersunk screw in the middle of the shower plate with a 3 mm Allen key.

    From the manual: “Unscrew the countersunk head screw in the center of the shower plate using an Allen key.”

  7. Lift away the shower plate and the shower holder.

    From the manual: “Remove the shower plate and shower holder.”

  8. Take off the shower plate gasket and keep it.

    From the manual: “Remove the shower plate gasket.”

  9. Prise the old group gasket out with the flat-head screwdriver; it will not survive removal.

    From the manual: “Lever the group gasket out with the flathead screwdriver.”

  10. Brush the groove in the shower holder clean.

    From the manual: “Clean the groove in the shower holder using the cleaning brush.”

  11. Fit the new group gasket in the groove with its chamfered side facing up.

    From the manual: “orient the gasket so that the chamfered side is facing up”

  12. Press the gasket fully into the groove.

    From the manual: “Press the gasket into the groove.”

  13. Put the shower plate gasket back.

    From the manual: “Install the shower plate gasket.”

  14. Screw the shower holder and shower screen back on with the countersunk screw.

    From the manual: “Screw on the shower holder and shower screen using the countersunk head screw.”

  15. Hold an empty portafilter against the screen and tighten it in slowly, pressing down on the group from above with your other hand.

    From the manual: “Place the portafilter without filter against the shower screen and slowly tighten.”
