Steps

  1. Take off the top nut, the handle and the jar.

From the manual: “Remove the Top Nut, handle, and the Jar.”

  2. Holding the burr still from below, loosen the micro-disk locking pin a couple of turns.

From the manual: “Loosen the MD Locking Pin a couple of turns while holding the burr still with one hand from below.”

  3. Still holding the burr, turn the micro disk a few full turns counter-clockwise.

From the manual: “turn the MD a few full turns, Counter Clockwise (CCW - Left).”

  4. Press the micro disk down on the top cap and keep unthreading the axle counter-clockwise, pulling gently, until it comes free.

From the manual: “continue unthreading by turning the axle/cone burr CCW (Left) and giving a slight pull”

  5. Draw the axle and cone burr out through the bottom and set them aside.

From the manual: “Once the axle is free pull it out through the bottom of the grinder and set aside.”

  6. Remove the micro disk and the needle-bearing thrust washer set.

From the manual: “Remove the MD and the Needle Bearing Thrust Washer Set.”

  7. Brush the cone burr and the ring burr, then blow them out with air.

From the manual: “Now you may brush off the cone burr, and brush out the ring burr.”

  8. For a deeper clean, unscrew the burr module clockwise (it is reverse-threaded) while holding the hopper. Optional

From the manual: “The Burr Module is Reverse Threaded, to remove, turn it Clockwise (CW - Right) while holding the Hopper still.”

  9. You may also unscrew the grind adjustment module counter-clockwise, then brush, wipe or wash the hopper tube. Optional

From the manual: “You may brush out, wipe out, or wash the Hopper Tube.”

  10. Refit any modules you removed: adjustment module clockwise on top, burr module counter-clockwise below, both tight. Optional

From the manual: “Install the Grind Adjustment Module on top of the Hopper by turning CW (Right).”

  11. Set the stepped disk to zero.

From the manual: “Set the SD to Zero.”

  12. Feed the axle and cone burr back through the roller bearings with care.

From the manual: “Install the axle/cone burr assembly carefully through the Roller Bearings.”

  13. Put the thrust washer set on the axle, with the needle bearing between the washers.

From the manual: “Needle Bearing goes between the washers”

  14. Lay the grinder on its side and hold the micro disk (pin loose) flat against the top without turning it.

From the manual: “Lay the grinder on its side.”

  15. Turn the axle clockwise into the micro disk for 5-10 revolutions, until its threads are fully engaged.

From the manual: “Continue turning the axle/cone burr about 5-10 revolutions until the threads have FULLY entered the Micro Adjustment Disk”

  16. Hold the cone burr up into the ring burr and spin the micro disk clockwise with one finger until it stops by itself.

From the manual: “spin the Micro Adjustment Disk CW (Right) with one finger (using the locking pin as the tool), until it naturally stops”

  17. Tighten the locking pin, then refit the jar, handle and top nut.

From the manual: “Tighten the Micro Adjustment Locking Pin, install the Jar, Handle, and Top Nut.”

  18. Re-zero: try to turn the stepped disk one full click below zero with normal force.

From the manual: “Using normal force, turn the SD one full click below zero.”

  19. If it will not go, loosen the pin, move the micro disk a few marks coarser, retighten and try again. Repeat until the stepped disk clicks one full step below zero

From the manual: “Keep doing this until you achieve one full click of the SD below zero.”

  20. Click back to zero; the grinder is ready.

From the manual: “Click back to zero & your grinder is ready to use.”
