Fit a new burr set: Niche Duo

Before you start

Tools
hex driver (supplied), cotton gloves, supplied brush
Supplies
replacement 83 mm flat burr set (upper and lower burr carriers)

Steps

  1. Switch the grinder off and unplug it.

    From the manual: “ALWAYS MAKE SURE THE GRINDER IS TURNED OFF AND UNPLUGGED WHEN NOT IN USE, BEFORE ASSEMBLING OR DISASSEMBLING PARTS”

  2. Put on cotton gloves before handling any burr.

    From the manual: “We recommend wearing cotton gloves when handling the burrs.”

  3. Turn the bean hopper anticlockwise to unscrew it and set it aside.

    From the manual: “Rotate the bean hopper anticlockwise to unscrew.”

  4. Lift the upper burr carrier out of the chamber.

    From the manual: “Remove the upper burr carrier from the grind chamber and place to one side.”

  5. Undo and remove the centre screw with the hex driver.

    From the manual: “Unscrew and remove the centre screw using the hex driver.”

  6. Lift the lower burr carrier out of the chamber.

    From the manual: “Remove the lower burr carrier from the grind chamber and place to one side.”

  7. With the grind cup under the chute, clean out the chamber.

    From the manual: “Place the grind cup under the grind chute and clean the grind chamber.”

  8. Fit the new lower burr carrier and turn it until it drops onto the chamber base.

    From the manual: “rotate until it drops to the chamber base.”

  9. Refit the centre screw and tighten it with the hex driver.

    From the manual: “Reseat the centre screw and tighten the screw using the hex driver.”

  10. Line up the three prongs of the new upper burr carrier with the holes in the chamber and seat it.

    From the manual: “Align the three prongs on the other upper burr carrier to the holes inside the chamber.”

  11. Screw the hopper back on clockwise until lightly hand tight.

    From the manual: “Reseat the bean hopper and screw clockwise until lightly hand tight.”

  12. Turn the hopper to your grind setting.

    From the manual: “Turn the bean hopper to your desired grind setting.”
