Light clean of the burrs and chamber: Niche Duo

Before you start

Tools
supplied brush (or a soft toothbrush), cotton or nitrile gloves, clean damp cloth, soft dry microfibre cloth, clean tea towel, vacuum (optional)

Steps

  1. Clear a space and lay down a clean tea towel for the parts you remove.

  2. Unplug the grinder from the mains.

  3. Put the grind cup in place to catch loose grounds.

  4. Unscrew the bean hopper and set it aside.

  5. Lift out the upper burr and set it aside.

  6. If you will vacuum instead of brushing, hook out the three springs in the outer ring of the chamber first. Optional

  7. Wearing gloves, brush the lower burr and chamber with the supplied brush.

    From the manual: “Using the supplied brush, clean the lower burr and chamber.”

  8. Sweep the loose grounds into the hole at the bottom of the chamber so they drop into the cup.

    From the manual: “Sweep any residual grinds into the hole at the bottom of the grind chamber”

  9. Brush the upper burr separately, holding it by its carrier, then put it back.

    From the manual: “brush-clean the removed upper burr, holding it carefully by the attached carrier.”

  10. Refit any springs you removed. Optional

  11. Screw the bean hopper back on.

    From the manual: “Screw the bean hopper back into place.”

  12. Push the brush up the chute and twist to clear clinging grounds.

    From the manual: “This can be done by pushing the brush up the chute and twisting.”

  13. Wipe the body, power cord and lid with a damp cloth, then dry them at once with a microfibre cloth.

  14. Wash the grind cup in warm soapy water and dry it.

    From the manual: “The grind cup can be simply washed with warm soapy water and dried as usual.”
