Steps

  1. If coffee leaks round the filter holder, first clear the filter holder's delivery hole. Optional

    From the manual: “it may be due to an obstruction in the delivery hole of the filter-holder, in which case the hole should be cleaned.”

  2. Replace the gasket if the leak continues or the handle now turns well past the centre of the group.

    From the manual: “if the filter holder moves significantly beyond the centre of the group head when it is being fitted”

  3. Switch the machine off and pull the power plug.

    From the manual: “Make sure that the machine is switched off and disconnect the power cable.”

  4. Prise out the old gasket and the shower screen, using a flat screwdriver as a lever.

    From the manual: “Remove the gasket (H) and the shower screen (G), using a flat screwdriver as a lever.”

  5. Clean the seat thoroughly before fitting anything new.

  6. Fit the new shower screen and gasket.

  7. Lock the filter holder in with no filter basket and work it back and forth to bed the gasket in.

    From the manual: “insert the filter holder, without the filter, into the group head and move it in order to seat the gasket.”
