Steps
- Heat the machine up; the steam boiler can stay off.
From the manual: “Heat up the machine. It is not necessary to switch on the steam boiler.”
- Fit the blind filter in the portafilter and add no cleaner.
From the manual: “It´s better if you clean the brew group from time to time without cleaner.”
- Lock the portafilter into the group.

- Raise the brew lever for about 20 seconds so the blind filter fills.
From the manual: “Operate the group lever for approx. 20 seconds.”
- Hold the lever in its middle position, about 45°.

- After about half a minute, lower the lever fully so the water drains through the group.

- Repeat until only clear water comes out. Repeat until the discharge runs clear

- Swap the blind filter for your coffee basket.
