Replace the group gasket and shower screen: ECM Puristika
Before you start
- Tools
- flat screwdriver, group brush, portafilter without a filter basket
- Supplies
- group gasket (ECM C449900229); shower screen (ECM C519900103)
Warnings

Steps
- Switch the machine off and unplug it.
From the manual: “Switch off the machine (power switch in lower position) and disconnect the power cord.”
- Let it cool to room temperature.
From the manual: “Let the machine cool down to room temperature.”
- Prise the shower screen and group gasket out with a flat screwdriver.
From the manual: “Use a flat screwdriver to pry out the shower screen and the group gasket.”
- Pull the old screen and gasket out completely.
From the manual: “Remove the shower screen and the gasket completely.”
- Have the new gasket and screen ready; the gasket's rounded side faces up, into the group.

- Brush the inside of the group clean.
From the manual: “Clean the brew group with a brush.”
- Snap the new shower screen firmly into the new gasket.
From the manual: “Lock the shower screen firmly into the gasket.”
- Push the screen-and-gasket assembly up into the brew group.
From the manual: “Insert the shower screen into the brew group.”
- Take the portafilter with no basket in it and lock it into the group.
From the manual: “Take the portafilter without filter.”
- Work the portafilter in until the screen is pressed firmly home in the gasket.
From the manual: “move the portafilter until the shower screen is locked firmly into the gasket”
- Check the portafilter now locks in normally; the group is ready.
