Steps
- Heat the machine up to its working temperature.
From the manual: “Heat up the machine until the optimum operating temperature has been reached.”
- Fit the blind filter in the portafilter and add no cleaner.
From the manual: “Please make sure the brew group is cleaned from time to time without cleaner”
- Lock the portafilter into the group.
From the manual: “Clamp the portafilter into the brew group.”
- Lift the brew lever; the blind filter fills with water.

- Hold the lever in its middle position, about 45°.

- After about 20 seconds, lower the lever fully so the water drains through the group.

- Repeat until only clear water comes out. Repeat up to 10 times, until the discharge runs clear

- Put the 1- or 2-cup filter back in the portafilter.
