Steps

  1. Fill the tank to the MAX line (about 1.7 L) with water and descaler at 4:1, or water and citric acid at 100:3.

  2. Press ON/OFF and wait until the coffee indicator light stays on.

  3. Press the manual coffee button so solution runs from the group head for about 1 minute, then press it again to stop.

  4. Press and hold the manual coffee button to enter steam thermoblock descaling; 'CLn' flashes and the other lights blink.

  5. Open the steam knob: solution runs from the wand for 1 minute, stops, and 'E-6' shows.

  6. Close the steam knob to finish that pass.

  7. Repeat the steam-wand pass 2-3 times for a thorough descale. Repeat 2-3 times

  8. Press the manual coffee button and let the remaining descaler drain out through the group head.

    From the manual: “Press the manual coffee making button water flows out from the grouphead and wait until all the descaler flows out.”

  9. Wash the tank and fill it to MAX with fresh water.

    From the manual: “Clean the water tank, then fill the water tank to the MAX level.”

  10. Run the group and steam-wand descaling passes again with the fresh water.

    From the manual: “Repeat the steps in “Descaling”.”

  11. Then run hot water until the brew boiler has emptied all its water.

    From the manual: “Then make hot water until all the water in the brew boiler comes out.”

  12. Do the whole fresh-water rinse at least 3 times so every pipe is flushed clean. Repeat at least 3 times
