Steps

  1. Only if foreign matter blocks the burr: take off the bean container first.

    From the manual: “You may also need to remove the burr if it becomes blocked with foreign matter.”

  2. Attach the portafilter and run the grinder without beans to clear the coffee guide.

    From the manual: “Attach the portafilter (C1) and operate the mill without beans to free the coffee guide;”

  3. Switch the machine off.

  4. Turn the grind selector anticlockwise as far as it goes, to REMOVE.

  5. Lift the upper burr out by its handle.

  6. Brush the burr and vacuum up the coffee residue.

  7. Put the upper burr back.

  8. Tug the handle: a correctly seated burr does not move.

    From the manual: “Make sure the burr is inserted correctly by pulling it by the handle.”

  9. Turn the selector to your grind level.

    From the manual: “Turn the selector to select the desired grinding level (fig. 13);”

  10. Refit the bean container until it clicks.

    From the manual: “Put the container back inserting it in the coffee mill.”
