Bezzera in-tank water softener cartridge (6 mm hose connection); tank modification kit (needed on the 4 l-tank models (Magica, Mitica, Galatea Domus, Strega, BZ16 vibration pump)), optional

Steps

  1. Prime the new cartridge: run water through it until it is full inside.

    From the manual: “Before using, rinse the water softener with water thoroughly, water has to be filled inside.”

  2. Alternatively, leave it submerged in water for 20 minutes. Optional

    From the manual: “Or submerge in water for 20 minutes.”

  3. On 3 l-tank models (BZ07, BZ09, BZ10, BZ13, Crema), take any sediment filter off the intake hose first. Only when: 3 l-tank models

    From the manual: “Please remove the sediment filter attachment if it's attached.”

  4. Push the cartridge onto the intake hose; where there are two hoses, that is the longer one. Only when: 3 l-tank models

    From the manual: “If there are two hoses, it should be the one that is longer.”

  5. On 4 l-tank models, unscrew the tank's bottom outlet fitting, fit the kit's fitting and push a silicone hose onto it. Only when: 4 l-tank models (Magica, Mitica, Strega, Galatea Domus, BZ16)

    From the manual: “Replace with this fitting and plug in the silicone hose”

  6. Attach the cartridge to the free end of that silicone hose. Only when: 4 l-tank models (Magica, Mitica, Strega, Galatea Domus, BZ16)

    From the manual: “Connect the water softener to the other end of the silicone hose.”

  7. Keep the cartridge under water in the tank from now on.

    From the manual: “It's crucial that the water softener remains in the water and does not dry out.”
