  1. Turn the adjustment dial clockwise by about two rotations.

  2. Holding the burr up from below, unscrew the knurled thumb nut counterclockwise and remove it.

From the manual: “remove the knurled thumb nut counter-clockwise while pressing the burr.”

  3. Lift out the upper bearing cap and the upper bearing.

From the manual: “Remove the upper bearing cap and upper bearing.”

  4. Take out the burr with its central shaft, then the spring and the lower bearing cap.

From the manual: “Remove the burr and central shaft, spring and lower bearing cap.”

  5. Only now unscrew the burr ring unit by turning it forward; it has a reverse thread.

From the manual: “Turn the burr ring unit forward (reverse threads).”

  6. Clean the parts with a brush and an air blower, never with water.

From the manual: “Cleaning with a brush and blower is recommended.”

  7. Screw the burr ring unit back by turning it backward until it is at its tightest.

From the manual: “Turn the burr ring unit backward (reverse threads) to the tightest position.”

  8. Line #0 up with the scale mark, with the dial ring's lower edge touching the first tier of the mark.

From the manual: “Align the #0 with the scale mark and the bottom edge of the adjustment dial ring touches the first tier”

  9. Refit in order: lower bearing cap with its raised edge up, then spring, then shaft and burr.

From the manual: “lower bearing cap (the raised edge side facing upward), spring, shaft and burr.”

  10. Drop the upper bearing back in from the top.

From the manual: “Put the upper bearing back from the top.”

  11. Holding the burr up, refit the upper bearing cap with the concave dots up and its U-shaped hole over the shaft.

From the manual: “The side with concave dots faces upward, and the U-shaped hole fits the shaft properly.”

  12. Keep pressing the burr up and tighten the knurled thumb nut; this sets the calibration.

From the manual: “Tighten the knurled thumb nut to calibrate the grinder while pressing the burr from the bottom.”

  13. Check zero: turn the dial counterclockwise to where resistance starts and the handle no longer spins freely.

From the manual: “Turn the adjustment dial ring counter-clockwise all the way to the starting point where the resistance starts”
